Comet fragment blamed for killing off dinosaurs.

In a paper in Scientific Reports, Harvard researchers Avi Loeb and Amir Siray suggest that, rather than an asteroid, it was an 80 x 10 kilometer fragment – roughly the size of today’s Boston – that crashed into the earth 66 million years ago off the coast of Mexico and caused the climate change responsible for the extinction of the species.
